Free Samples by Mail in Canada

Almost every internet browser in Canada has come across a website or online shop that claims to offer free samples of a product. In fact, they have become so many and so rampant that whenever a person ignores one another appears almost immediately. Most of these websites claim to offer free samples by mail and since it is only human nature to be excited by things that come free when one would otherwise be required to spend money on them, most people usually end up following links and providing their details or even opening an online account. The biggest questions still remain whether free samples by mail in Canada work and whether they are legitimate.

Do They Work?

So, this is how most of them operate; once you see an ad or a link that claims to offer a free sample, you are allowed to follow it and then apply for the product. Once you have applied for the free sample, you are supposed to provide delivery information and then wait for it to be delivered to the mail of your specification. At least that is how it is supposed to work. Unfortunately, whereas there are some few selected free samples that are actually genuine, a good number of them are not. In fact, if any statistics were to be conducted, possibly 98% of free samples by mail in Canada are scams that are meant to swindle innocent and unknowing citizens. The percentage that offers genuine free samples really deserves substantial hail. They have ensured that there is room to salvage the free samples method of promotion that has been tinted by the non genuine ones. It is always advisable that once a person gets a genuine one, he or she should stick to it and enjoy its offers.

In a nutshell, there are some free samples by mail that are genuine while a bigger number of them are not. Now, the question changes to how to tell which one is genuine and which one is not.

How to Tell the Legit Ones

It is extremely hard (or even impossible) to tell which offer is legitimate and which one is likely to lead to a scam by simple observation. This means that whenever a person encounters an offer, there are equal chances that it might either be legitimate or a scam. However, there are ways of trying to find out whether there are possibilities of legitimacy. The best method is to inquire from friends and other people who might have had any experience. It is important to note that most of the non legit websites will always create imaginary customers and compose non legit reviews that claim it is legit. Therefore, it is not advisable to act based on internet reviews by strangers.

Is It Worthy Trying?

For a person who is not risk averse and does not mind gambling, experimenting with free sample offers can be beneficial in the end. This is because most websites and online shops usually offer lots of free samples so long as one remains a customer of their products. This might not be a bad thing after all considering they are products that you might still need to buy anyway (most of them deal in cosmetics, foods and generally household stuff). However, people who are risk averse should stay clear off such sites. It is most likely that it will be a scam than it will be genuine. Regardless of how appealing and convincing a site can be, there are usually higher chances that it will land a person in trouble. Instead of getting the free sample, the online sellers might actually snatch one or two things from you. So, the question of whether free samples by mail in Canada are worth giving a shot is absolutely subjective. However, it is advisable to avoid them and only try those that have been tried and tested by close friends and relatives. Otherwise, one might be exposed to unimaginable risks.

Associated Risks
  • Loss of money: some scams are designed to track your money in your debit or credit card. Some even extend to other financial accounts that are linked to a person. One might end up losing money on products that he or she never bought. Most of such scams are those that prompt a person to provide a lot of financial information.
  • Recruitments: some websites simply require a person’s personal information so that they can use it to recruit them for unmentioned causes that are probably highly controversial or illegal. Most such scams will always prompt one for a lot of personal details. An account can even be created.
How to Avoid a Scam
  • Do not ever pay for free samples: they are free! It does not make sense when a seller asks for money for a free sample. Those who ask for money might have tricky ways of getting you to spend more than you should even if you were to buy the product.
  • Avoid filling forms that require your financial information: such information might be used to access your financial accounts and deduct money from them. In the modern world, there are many ways that hackers use to access other people’s finances. All they need is you to give a portion of the information that will help them with hacking.
  • Avoid filling out surveys and other personal information forms: surveys might be a gateway to getting your personal information which might be used inappropriately. Actually, any seller who asks for more than delivery information is bound to have malice.
  • Do not trust free samples with very high monetary value: real genuine companies and sellers do not usually offer expensive free samples. If the deal is too good to be true then it is more of a scam than a deal and therefore its better to be avoided.
  • Trust your gut: whenever you have doubts about a website or seller then you are probably right. It is safe not to associate with those that do not seem to be genuine by simple observation.
